How ChillTip™ (smaller spot handpiece) works
1. Skin is cooled before and during the treatment.
2. Skin is compressed and the laser beam is applied to the skin and the follicle is damaged.
In the past, remedies for unwanted hair included plucking, shaving, waxing, electrolysis or chemical depilatories. Some of these methods are painful and/or messy, and all are temporary. Laser hair removal with the LightSheer DUET is a more effective, pain-free and permanent solution.
The High-Speed LightSheer DUET uses state-of-the-art diode lasers with vacuum-assist technology to remove unwanted hair and with greater speed and comfort than other methods.
The LightSheer DUET includes two optimal wavelengths of 800 mm diode hair removal systems on one versatile platform.
The LightSheer's dual heads enable permanent hair reduction from all areas of the body. Its advanced technology reduces pain while increasing efficiency, enabling fast and comfortable treatments for patients.

Laser hair removal is a popular solution for unwanted body hair. You may be surprised to learn that virtually your entire body is covered with hair from fine peach fuzz like hair to course dark hair. When darker hair appears in places which make you uncomfortable, it may be time to consider hair removal with our LightSheer DUET.
Considered the 'GOLD STANDARD' in laser hair removal and suitable for both men and women, the LightSheer Duet with DIODE TECHNOLOGY is the most innovative laser on the market. Due to LightSheer DUET's built-in ChillTip™ sapphire continuous cooling technology to protect the skin and improve the comfort of our guests, treatment is virtually pain-free. It works with all skin types, hair types and most hair colours.*
The LightSheer DUET large handpiece with vacuum assisted technology targets the largest spot size of any Diode on the market today. Our guests can expect quick and comfortable treatment of large areas such as their abdomen, legs or back in 15 minutes or less, making hair removal at Brooklin Laser fast and without the use of anesthetics and cooling gels.
* Grey and white hairs do not respond to the treatments and therefore we would not recommend laser hair removal in these instances.
Yes. For sanitary/hygiene purposes, a $15 disposable tip fee will be applied to each laser session requiring the large handpiece.
The LightSheer DUET is the real-deal — guests are shocked when seeing the residue left behind after each laser session. Again, one of the many reasons the Diode Technology is known as the Gold Standard in laser hair removal. You will see permanent results from the very first treatment!
A larger spot size enables a greater depth of penetration for improved absorption of energy at the target follicle. With integrated vacuum-assist technology, the LightSheer DUET is the ONLY laser with unique and dedicated technology for pain reduction, enhanced efficiency and safety.
How HIT™ (larger area handpiece) works
1. The vacuum gently draws the skin into the handpiece. The skin is stretched thin and the target is pulled closer to the energy source.
2. Energy is applied to the target in which melanocytes are spread apart and blood flow is constricted.
3. Target is damaged and skin is released.

The laser works best when hairs are in an early growth stage. Because all of the hairs are not in this phase at the same time, multiple treatments are required.
The appearance of the treated area immediately following treatment will vary from patient to patient, depending on the extent of the procedure and the skin type. Side effects are rare and, if they do occur, are typically minor. They may include redness and swelling around the hair follicle, indicating that the follicle has responded to treatment. Most people return to normal activity right away.

The High-Speed LightSheer DUET is a laser that produces a large beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted is well absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. During the procedure, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, allowing the hair to absorb the light and heat up. As it heats up, the hair shaft and bulb are damaged which significantly impedes its ability to re-grow. The process can treat numerous hair follicles simultaneously, faster than other laser hair removal alternatives.
The LightSheer High-Speed hand-piece uses breakthrough vacuum assisted technology in combination with diode laser light to allow rapid and comfortable treatment of large areas. A back or legs can be treated in 15 to 20 minutes, without the need for topical numbing creams.

BE CAREFUL OF FALSE CLAIMS. Although most hair is gone in 3 treatments, it's just not possible for all the hair to be gone forever in that timeframe, regardless of the laser machine being used. You may have quicker results if you have had previous laser hair removal treatments or have super fine, low-dense hair.
And here's why:
Because 1/4 to 1/3 of the actively growing pigmented hair roots are damaged or destroyed in any one session, almost all people will want a minimum of four treatments to reach a satisfactory degree of hair reduction, and many people will wish to have more than four treatments, most commonly 5 to 6 treatments. In some cases another session or two in twelve months or a few years after to eliminate any black or brown hairs which have developed when dormant follicles started to produce hair, or when “peach fuzz” hair follicles mature and start to produce black or brown hair.
The number of treatments desired will depend on:
An additional “touch up” treatment on a small troublesome spot can be arranged between treatments. There is no safety limit on the number of treatments a person can have. Please reach out for a free consultation or patch test.
